About

The hilarious antics as the cast flaunts class and privilege; some mocking it at the same time. Two young British ‘gentlemen’ maintain fictitious personae to escape burdensome social obligations. A myriad of farcical misunderstandings trip up their respective courtships to two young women who, themselves are complicated and satirical reflections of their time, situation and social standing.

CCT’s  rendition of ‘Earnest’ is set in contemporary times, the year 2022.  However, ‘Earnest’ was first performed in London on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 1894 and originally entitled The Importance of Being Earnest, a Trivial Comedy for Serious People.
