About A Christmas Carol

Family drama/comedy/Christmas
This play is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic and is a story of second chances set in Victorian England in the 1840 (the ‘Hungry Forties’) when many people were very poor and struggling.
A miserly man, Ebenezer Scrooge is contemptuous of the poor and knows no empathy for the struggles of his Clerk, Bob Cratchit and his family to make ends meet in hard times. He is only concerned with making and acquiring money, and he can be ruthless.
During the night of Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by the Spirits of Past, Present, and Future. They confront him for his heartless ways, showing him the effects on himself and others. By morning, he has rediscovered the meaning of Christmas and the value of love and generosity. He takes action and makes amends. The change is phenomenal and a joy for audiences to behold.
